How to Open tar.gz file on Mac Using Commander One

Download, install, and open Commander One on your Mac.

Find the .tgz archive you want to open and right-click it.

Choose “Extract file” from the context menu.

What is the TAR.GZ file format?

TAR.GZ is a compressed archive. The file extension is a combination of TAR (an uncompressed collection of files known as “a tarball”) and GZIP (a compression utility developed for Linux systems that makes files smaller).
